Literature Text
The covers get pulled around
just like a shield
against the ice breeze
that now brushes against the window's glass
The skin we possess
slightly graze upon one another
as the warm breath edges nearer
through the air between our crevices
We both open our eyes
in silent harmony together
to see the shimmering hope swirling amongst them
before exchanging a smile or two
As the space closes
and our bodies combine to make one
we eventually coil around each other tightly
holding on protectively as much as our love is strong
The softness of cotton
the smell of your skin
the lightness of your touch
and the autumn morning breeze
is what make my dull days wakeable
just like a shield
against the ice breeze
that now brushes against the window's glass
The skin we possess
slightly graze upon one another
as the warm breath edges nearer
through the air between our crevices
We both open our eyes
in silent harmony together
to see the shimmering hope swirling amongst them
before exchanging a smile or two
As the space closes
and our bodies combine to make one
we eventually coil around each other tightly
holding on protectively as much as our love is strong
The softness of cotton
the smell of your skin
the lightness of your touch
and the autumn morning breeze
is what make my dull days wakeable
